Legends Luncheon: Ring of Honor
Legends Luncheon: Ring of Honor 2014 was an all-star show featuring the induction of Sun Devil greats Eric Allen and Darren Woodson into the prestigious Ring of Honor society. Past inductees along with other outstanding players and coaches who built the Sun Devil football program were in attendance making it truly memorable event for all fans, alumni and guests.
Tim Healey, the voice of the Sun Devils, offered welcoming remarks to kickoff the Luncheon. Christine Wilkinson, president of the ASU Alumni Association, and Ray Anderson, vice president for university athletics and athletics director, spoke at the event about the Sun Devil football program, the Ring of Honor Society, and how the annual Legends Luncheon event has become a powerful way to honor the players and coaches who have made ASU a legendary football school.

Lantern Walk and Homecoming Coronation
Lantern Walk, which began in 1917 as a symbolic passing of the torch from the senior class to the junior class, lit up “A” Mountain on Friday, Oct. 31. With the most beautiful views of Tempe as the backdrop, alumni, students and guests were treated to an hour filled with excitement, Sun Devil spirit, speakers, and a spectacular fireworks display.
Fans who were unable to hike up “A” Mountain enjoyed the event in Sun Devil Stadium where the entire event was broadcast LIVE making it accessible to all ASU fans.
Sun Devil Homecoming 2014 was celebrated in style with its theme “Written in the Sparks.” More than 100 floats designed to reflect the theme along with parade Grand Marshal Randall McDaniel ‘02, Sparky, the Sun Devil Marching Band and the Sun Devil Spirit Squad made their way through University Drive as thousands of enthusiastic fans lined the streets to enjoy the parade.
The block party celebrations featured live performances, autographs sessions, Sparky license plate selfie opportunities, membership giveaways, activities for little Sun Devils and much more.

The ASU Alumni Association honored outstanding Sun Devil alumni at halftime of the Homecoming football game against the Utah Utes.
Rebecca White Berch ’76 B.S., ’79 J.D., ’90 M.A., chief justice of the Arizona Supreme Court received the Alumni Service Award, and Tim Healey, the radio “Voice of the Sun Devils” for ASU’s sports teams since 1998, received the Alumni Appreciation Award.
Theresa Esparza '94 M.Tax., who was the 2013-14 chair of the organization’s board of directors and National Alumni Council, also was honored for her service to the organization.
