Robert Thompson, ‘84 BFA

I graduated at the end of the fall semester of 1984/85, with a BFA in Graphic Design. I had a 40-year career as a graphic designer as VP and Senior Art Director of an Anchorage, Alaska based advertising agency. Since then I have also been engaged in a fine art career as a watercolor artist, specializing in the field of aviation art, because as a lifelong Alaskan I have been very close to the aviation community, which is the lifeblood of this amazing state. Arizona has many similarities to AK, not so much in climate, but in the wildness of the land, and the tremendous opportunities to experience them, being one-to-one with nature. I regret to say I do not have many photos from my years as an ASU student, but here is one from a recent trip revisiting Saguaro Lake, hiking South Mountain, and of course, the Chuckbox!
