Every Sun Devil journey is unique, and mine is deeply rooted in perseverance, family, and lifelong learning. In December 2025, I proudly graduated from Arizona State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor's degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. That milestone was made even more meaningful by sharing the experience with my son, who earned his Bachelor's degree from ASU's College of Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Psychology. Our journey to ASU began together years earlier at City Colleges of Chicago, where I completed an Associate degree in Biological Science and my son earned an Associate degree in Psychology. Moving forward side by side-from community college to a major research university, highlighted the power of access, persistence, and support at every stage of higher education. One of my proudest Sun Devil moments was crossing the graduation stage knowing we had encouraged one another through challenges and growth. ASU reinforced that success does not follow a single path or timeline. The university's commitment to innovation and inclusion made it possible for both of us to achieve our goals while honoring our individual journeys.
Our story reflects what it truly means to be a Sun Devil: resilience, determination, and the belief that education transforms lives across generations.
