The year 2009 made us view life in a different light didn’t it? No longer can we sweat the small stuff, and now we are just thankful for where we are in life. For 2010, I urge you all to think of activities to assist others in need. Just some of the needed nurturing we as fellow citizens can do around the community is get involved in church, participate in a Sun Devil organization’s event or activity, and above all, have a smile while doing so. There are so many of us out there with frowned faces from the economic turmoil, the housing market, loss of jobs, and now Haiti. It is the little things that help brightens one’s day.
For ASU Black Alumni, we are hearing your voices! It is hard to financially assist others in need when your own needs are in disarray. Our comeback response to you all is... what time are you giving to assist others? There is an old saying. “When your hand is tightly fisted and closed, you can not give nor receive the blessings of others.” Help ASU Black Alumni assist our community through giving your time and participation. We need your support. The people within your community need your support. We are putting together great workshops that will be posted in early February on the ASU Alumni Special Chapters website and Facebook to network with other alumni, assist others in need and/or attend a financial workshop to get your feet off to a great 2010 start, and more!
Peace to you! Explore great possibilities in growing yourself and give back to others! It is so rewarding to enjoy life and give back to the community. Join us and make 2010 a remarkable year for you and your family!
