My time at Arizona State shaped both my career path and my passions in ways I didn't expect when I first arrived on campus. I began studying journalism, but during college I developed a strong interest in exercise, wellness, and nutrition. That curiosity eventually led me to switch majors to nutrition with an emphasis in communication. I'll always remember how supportive and welcoming my professors were during that transition-they encouraged curiosity, sparked a deeper passion for the field, and helped me build confidence in my ability to keep learning and growing.
Some of my favorite memories happened outside the classroom. I loved heading to the Sun Devil Fitness Complex after class, where I joined the barbell club, learned CrossFit alongside new friends, and played intramural volleyball. But nothing topped football game days. Camping out for student section tickets with friends, tailgating, and cheering as loudly as possible for the Sun Devils are some of my most vivid and cherished memories from ASU.
Today, I'm the Marketing Director for a global digital fitness brand. In many ways, my work brings together everything I discovered at ASU-I get to use my storytelling skills from journalism and my nutrition education while supporting athletes of all kinds, from professional CrossFit Games competitors to the everyday mom working out in her garage. It still feels a bit like those ASU game days: showing up, cheering loudly, and supporting the home team.
