Lynne Smiley, '24 BS

After a 20-year HR career in semiconductor manufacturing, I took time off to deal with family and health challenges. During the break I discovered my passion for public policy and service, and decided to enroll at ASU Online to complete my bachelor's degree. It had been decades since I last attended university and I was unsure of my ability to succeed. Thankfully, the coursework aligned perfectly with my schedule, and I was thrilled to find I could excel as a student. The academic rigor challenged me to perform beyond expectations, and expanded my thinking to meet contemporary demands. As someone who values scholastic excellence, my favorite memories are having a project selected as exemplary for the course's syllabus, and graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions.
