After 20 years of working in the service industry, I decided to finish my bachelor's degree with ASU online. I chose Forensic Psychology because I was fascinated by what happens at the intersection of behavior and crime. At 45 years old, going back into school gave me a renewed sense of purpose. ASU challenged me in the best ways. The courses pushed me to think critically, and I had the chance to engage in real research and learn how to ask questions like a scientist. That experience opened the door for me to become an NCUIRE scholar. In the fall of 2024, I graduated Summa Cum Laude, becoming the first in my family to earn a degree. Thanks to my time at ASU online, I am now heading into my second semester of a doctorate in Criminology. If anyone out there is reading this and feeling "too old" or unsure about returning to school, let my story be your sign. You can absolutely do it. ASU and ASU Online will support you every step of the way. #ForksUp!
