How do I get a Sparky license plate?

  1. Go online and order your own Sparky license plate for $25.
  2. Visit your local MVD branch to place your order in person.

How does ASU get my contribution?
The MVD will collect and forward $17 of your $25 contribution to the ASU Alumni Association. The money raised by the ASU collegiate license plate program are allocated directly to the Medallion Scholarship fund that gives ASU students opportunities to enhance their college experience through participation in this leadership scholarship program.

What is the Medallion Scholarship Program?
The Medallion Scholarship Program is the ASU Alumni Association's signature scholarship initiative. The Medallion Scholarship is more than a financial award; it is a comprehensive scholarship program that incorporates components of leadership, scholarship and service.

There’s no better way to give your ride a personal touch than by customizing your Sparky plate! Get creative and choose up to six characters to spell out your personal message. Visit your MVD website for full information and application fees.

No plate in your state?
In addition to Arizona, Sparky plates are offered in Delaware, Maryland and Texas, and will be coming soon to Pennsylvania.

Already have a Sparky plate?
It's easy to upgrade! Simply bring your current plate to Old Main or your local MVD office and trade it in for the newest edition for a plate replacement fee of just $5.
