ASU alums invited to show off their collegiate license plates in new "My Plate Selfie" contest

Oct. 15, 2014/Tempe, Ariz. – Arizona State University alums and fans whose license plates proudly proclaim their Sun Devil pride can share their enthusiasm in the ASU Alumni Association’s “My Plate Selfie” contest, which runs through midnight on Saturday, Nov. 15. The contest will showcase fans’ creativity as they share a “selfie” photo with their license plate in the frame that captures their ASU spirit. Sales of the ASU collegiate plate in Arizona provide financial support to current students through the Alumni Association’s Medallion Scholarship.

The “My Plate Selfie” contest will have two categories: Arizona and national. Arizona residents who own an all-gold ASU collegiate license plate are eligible for the in-state category; those who live in states other than Arizona are eligible if they own a personalized ASU-themed license plate in their home state. Entrants in both categories are invited to send a creative “selfie” photo of themselves and their plate to by Nov. 15. 

Fans of the ASU Alumni Association’s Facebook page will be able to vote for their favorite selfie photo between Nov. 19 and Nov. 26. On Dec. 1, the association will announce the contest winners on and its Facebook fan page.

Winners in the Arizona category will receive $100 gift card to the Sun Devil Campus Stores, as well as a Sparky Car Care Package, which contains various ASU-themed items designed to beautify a vehicle. In the national category, the winner will receive a $100 gas card and a Sparky Car Care Package. Second and third place contestants in each category will win a $25 gas card and a Sparky Car Care Package.
