ruth mcgregor '74 J.D.

Ruth McGregor was a justice of the Arizona Supreme Court from 1998 to 2009, serving as chief justice for the court for a term that ended with her retirement. She received her law degree from Arizona State University in 1974, and served as a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor in 1981 and 1982. She later served on the Arizona Court of Appeals before being appointed to the Arizona Supreme Court. McGregor did significant work in the Arizona Court system as a justice, where she worked on concerns of derogatory terms referring to undocumented immigrants in the state.
