Which groups or activities were you most involved in at ASU? What did you gain from that involvement?
Besides attending football games, I participated in ASU's Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers chapter. The chapter helped me develop my leadership and networking skills, taught me how to build a resume, and provided me with tips about how to prepare for interviews.
How did your education at ASU prepare you for your current job or business?
The university helped me become who I am today as a person and an engineer. It gave me the skills to succeed at my entry-level engineering positions and move up through the ranks to my current position as an engineer manager. I look forward to developing additional skills and strengths that were first initiated during my ASU education.
Tell us about your involvement in the Greater Philadelphia alumni chapter and the Admissions Ambassadors initiative.
Currently, I am the president of the Greater Philadelphia chapter, where we are working to connect our local alumni to our alma mater and to each other.
I support the admissions ambassadors' initiative by sharing ASU's New American University message with high school students in Philadelphia.
Why have you chosen to be a member of the Alumni Association?
It gives me a chance to meet other Sun Devils in the area, increases my networking contacts and keeps me up to date with what's going on at ASU.
What are three "can't-miss" ASU experiences every Sun Devil should participate in?
There are so many experiences that I could mention, but my top 3 would have to be:
What advice would you give to today's ASU students?
Make sure to take advantage of all the resources that the university has to offer, from career placement to the many groups and activities available to students. Another bit of advice I would give to students is try to complete an internship while in college and to build a network of friends and colleagues for future references. Last, but not least, have fun!
