darren woodson '92 B.S.

Darren Woodson, a native of Phoenix, played in the NFL as a safety and later became a sports analyst for ESPN. Woodson graduated from Maryvale High School where he earned All-Metro Division AAA and All-City honors, before becoming a walk-on with the ASU football team. As a Sun Devil, Woodson was voted the team's "Most Improved" player and later earned honorable mention All-Pac 10 honors, an honorable mention All-America designation, and was named to the All-Pac 10 second team. He served as the team captain during his senior year and graduated in 1992 with a degree in criminal justice. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1992, where he played his entire career, becoming the leading career tackler for the team and being selected for five Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams. Woodson was also a member of all three Cowboys Super Bowl champion teams of the 1990s. He was inducted into the Arizona State University Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
