Amanda Brown '93 b.a.

A native of Arizona, Amanda Brown is best known as the author of the novel, “Legally Blonde,” which was later adapted into a movie and a musical. Brown is the daughter of the late Jack Brown, who founded the successful law firm Brown and Bain in Phoenix. She went to Arcadia High School before heading to ASU where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1993. After she graduated, Brown enrolled in Stanford Law School. Ultimately, she did not earn her law degree, focusing instead on writing stories about her experiences at Stanford. These stories eventually found their way into “Legally Blonde.” Brown has since published two more books, “Family Trust” and “School of Fortune,” which have been optioned to become films.
