My time at Arizona State University helped shape the educator and learning strategist I am today. Through the Mary Lou Fulton College of Teaching and Learning Innovation, I learned that effective education is about far more than delivering content - it's about understanding how students learn, building relationships, and helping individuals develop confidence in themselves.
After beginning my career in traditional education settings in both Alberta and British Columbia, I became increasingly passionate about supporting students who were capable but struggling with executive functioning, organization, anxiety, learning differences, and academic confidence. That passion eventually led me into post-secondary student success work and later into launching my own educational consulting and learning strategies practice in Vancouver.

Today, I work with secondary and post-secondary students, helping them develop practical tools for time management, study strategies, motivation, and self-advocacy. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching students realize they are not "bad students" - they simply needed the right systems and support.

One of the things I appreciated most about ASU was its emphasis on innovation and reimagining education. That mindset stayed with me throughout my career and gave me the confidence to think beyond traditional pathways in education.

While I may no longer be in a conventional classroom full-time, I still consider myself an educator every day. Whether working one-on-one with students, supporting families, or collaborating with schools and professionals, I'm grateful to continue helping learners build skills that extend far beyond academics.
