2026 Arizona Media Association, Hall of Fame Inductee, Juan Villa, News Director, Univisión Arizona

Juan Villa is the News Director of Univisión Arizona and Utah. His 30 years of experience in Spanish media includes stints at television, radio and newspaper groups. He started in 1995 as a News Announcer for KPHX-1480 and later at Radio Unica. After working as a reporter for La Voz Newspaper, he entered the TV space as a News Producer for Telemundo Arizona. Villa is a multi-time Rocky Mountain Emmys and Arizona Press Club award winner. Villa earned his bachelor's degree in journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. Villa also has a master's degree in Spanish Literature from ASU, where he has represented at several academic conferences in many countries. He spent 25 years on the Arizona Latino Media Association Board. Juan Villa is originally from Mexicali. He is the author of the book: Coyotes en el cine fronterizo (2011) and serves as a mentor to many journalists in Arizona.
