ASU Alumni Association seeks applicants for Legacy Scholarships
The ASU Alumni Association is accepting applications for its Legacy Scholarships, which are presented to relatives of ASU Alumni Association members. Legacy Scholarship applicants must demonstrate evidence of academic success, a strong commitment to community service and/or university involvement, and dedication to the achievement of their personal and educational goals.
Christine K. Wilkinson, president of the ASU Alumni Association, said the Legacy Scholarship program is key to engaging multiple generations of Sun Devil families.
“The Alumni Association offers many benefits to its members, and this is just one of the many ways we support them and add to our Sun Devil family,” Wilkinson said. “This program truly enables the Alumni Association to pass on the values and traditions of ASU to future generations.”
The ASU Alumni Association first began awarding Legacy Scholarships with the start of the 2010-2011 academic year, and each recipient receives $1,000 each, $500 per semester. Scholarship recipients are chosen by the Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarship Committee. As part of the university’s commitment to promoting access to education, the ASU Alumni Association distributes more than half of the scholarship awards based on need. Additionally, there will be at least three scholarships awarded to California residents as part of the California Legacy Scholarships. Students who receive other scholarships from Arizona State University (i.e. the Medallion Scholarship, President's Scholarship or other university scholarships) are not eligible for the Legacy Scholarship.
The application deadline is March 16; applicants will be notified of their scholarship status by April 13. Click here to apply for a Legacy Scholarship or for more information.
