Editor's note: Taylor Rose is one of ASU's many alums who are serving in the Peace Corps. In the photo, she is shown on the far left with her host family in Indonesia.Which groups or activities were you most involved in at ASU? What did you gain from that involvement?Working for the State Press was an interesting way to put the knowledge I gained from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication to practical use. It also helped me be involved with the university.
Which groups or activities were you most involved in at ASU? What did you gain from that involvement?I was involved in a lot of activities as a Sun Devil. The one which impacted me the most was participating in the Devils’ Advocates organization. Ever since my tour of ASU as a high school senior, I knew I wanted to give tours to prospective students and represent the university to the community. Being a first-generation college student meant a lot to me, so as soon as I got to ASU, I interviewed and became a Devils’ Advocate.
Which groups or activities were you most involved in at ASU? What did you gain from that involvement? While at ASU, I was involved in the W. P. Carey School of Business’ residential college as a resident assistant and as a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity. Beyond the business school, I gave campus tours as a Devils’ Advocate, taught ASU 101 classes to freshman students and founded Run Devils (a running club). Being involved allowed me to explore my interests, discover my passions and make life-long friends. I also met my wife on campus!
Which groups or activities were you most involved in at ASU? What did you gain from that involvement?I worked at the Memorial Union information desk, which put me smack in the middle of campus. I spent those shifts chatting up some colorful characters, as well as highly motivated (and good-looking) students.
Which groups or activities were you most involved in at ASU? What did you gain from that involvement?Besides attending football games, I participated in ASU's Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers chapter. The chapter helped me develop my leadership and networking skills, taught me how to build a resume, and provided me with tips about how to prepare for interviews.
