ASU Black Alumni

What is ASUBA?
The ASU Black Alumni Chapter (ASUBA) is dedicated to serving and reconnecting individuals of African American decent for the intent of advancing the recruitment and retention of the University, while achieving results pertaining to mentoring the community, African American and African descended students in all academia.

What is ASUBA's Purpose?
ASUBA brings a network of individuals coming to one purpose: to participate in acts of volunteerism and kindness, recognize achievements from alumni and other African Americans in the community, promote retention and recruitment of Arizona State University students, and in doing so create awareness and leadership.

ASUBA's Focal Points

  • Facilitate volunteerism within the ASU family and community.
  • Create awareness and sense of membership amongst African Americans at ASU and within the community.
  • Manage fundraising and donations to assist funding for Black Alumni scholarships, programs, networking activities, and opportunities for advancement.

We're looking for alumni who are interested in getting involved in a leadership role with the chapter. If you are interested in helping to plan upcoming events and continue the growth and success of our chapter, please email us at blacksundevils@gmail.com.

Assist Our Scholarship Fund
We all remember what it was like to struggle in college! Whether you graduated in 1950 or 2009, you understand tuition, books and fees can add up. Something as small as $50 will help our students in school. Please make an online donation to the ASUBA.

End of the Year Scholarship Event

Alumni members gathered to celebrate Keithan Harris and Caprice Howard our first ever $1,000 scholarship recipients for the 2011-2012 school year.


 
ASU Cares Community Service Project

Black Alumni participated in the clean up of the ASU Arboretum with other ASU Alumni friends and family!


 
Bowling for Scholarships
January 2011, AMF Bowling Lanes in Tempe, AZ
Over 20 Black Alumni Members attended this event and raised over $500+ for our scholarship fund.

ASU Homecoming

Black Alumni members came out in full force to support the ASU Homecoming festivities. With over 65+ Black alumni and undergrads present, this is by far the signature event of the year!
